Born in Manitoba, Linda Roe called Southern Ontario home for decades. While raising three sons in Georgetown, Ontario, she developed, as yet untapped skills, as a ‘painter of murals’ for the Georgetown Little Theatre and Globe Musical Productions. As a volunteer, she worked on set décor for both the Brampton Little Theatre and the Mississauga Opera Company and was awarded special THEA trophies for her landscape work in the productions of Oklahoma, Brigadoon and The Lion in Winter. She was awarded two citizen medals by the Halton Hills town council for her artistic theatrical contributions, as well as for producing plays. For several years she also helped organize an arts and crafts program for the town’s Cubs and Scouts summer camps.

Linda re-located to Burlington, Ont. where she took an active role in the Burlington Art Centre’s (BAC) Fine Arts Guild. She organized juried shows and social convening. With her husband Peter, she became a major contributor to the Centre's expansion program with the newly created Fine Arts room bearing the name ‘Seville-Roe’.

Entering juried shows in nearby towns, Linda was awarded ‘Best in Show’ in Kitchener, London and Guelph. In celebration of the BAC’s 20th anniversary, she participated in a major collaborative exhibit called ‘Connections’. After weeks on display in Burlington, it was exhibited in Japan for three months. Linda also volunteered to paint murals in Joseph Brant Hospital’s Cancer Clinic and the Carpenter Hospice.

Having founded an annual art tour in Burlington, when Linda and Peter moved to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, they co-founded Art In Action - Lunenburg. For the last seven years she has given art lessons to the residents of the Veteran Unit at Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. A member of the Lunenburg Art Society, Linda has sold her art internationally and one of her paintings hangs in the Ontario Legislative Library.

Now in Blue Rocks, Linda gives workshops in fibre art, acrylic and encaustics in The Art Barn, her studio, workshop and gallery.
