Three thousand years ago, beeswax was used to caulk the hulls of Greek ships. At some point a new use was found for the beeswax as a painting medium. Pigments were added for colour and resin for hardness, to create unmatched depth and luminosity. Few art forms can match this ancient art medium for its versatility, both in technique and result.
